Offspring: How Many?

How many children is the right amount of children? Does the Bible have anything to say about how many children couples have? He, God, said to replenish and multiply this would bring the total to four children. Of course maybe God doesn't care. What is your opinion?

Replinish would be replacing you and your spouse times two/multiply would be four.

I don't know that I have completely settled in my mind what I think on this subject. I guess I fall somewhere in the middle on this issue. Some people feel God opens and closes the womb and that we should completely rely & trust on Him to do that and bless us with however many children He chooses. I guess the "problem" with this view is that we would never carry that view into other areas of our lives. The principle is that God chooses who and when He gives life to someone and who and when He takes life. If we really followed this principle, when we get sick we would not seek any professional help. We would simply leave it in God's hands whether he wishes us to live or die. Maybe God wishes to use medical advances to help us live. Do we really think we have the power to prevent a birth if God wishes to bless us with a child. I think we spend to much time on an issue that is pointless because God has the power to make His will accomplished whether we try to prevent it or not. Let's not forget, Jesus was born of a virgin.

Did I make any sense, as I said I'm still thinking and pondering.
