Sin Questions

So we have decided divorce isn't sin but remarriage is. I agree with this, however, I wonder how this affects our view of those who are remarried. For instance, there is a local Baptist preacher/beef farmer who is divorced and remarried. He is a good man and an excellent speaker. He knows the Lord, is he going to hell? Why is it okay to worship with them and then not have them lead us in worship? Are we not all sinners?

Hi! I was encouraged to read your testimony by Japheth and haven't had a chance to, but wanted to respond to this post quick. My husband and I have read "Til Death Do Us Part" by Joseph Webb and it has been extremely helpful in our understanding of this subject. I would highly recommend it.

Thank you.
Would you care to flesh out a tad what he believes?
THanks again

Joseph Webb goes into great detail about every possible scripture reference, the theological interpretations then and now, and the principles of hermaneutics. Basically, he says that God is ready and willing to forgive every sin IF WE REPENT. Repenting involves turning away from or making a 180 degree turn. Someone that is remarried may say that they are sorry, but they have not repented because they are continually living in that state of sin. There is tons more, but does this help? (I'm feeling a bit on thin ice as I don't want to come across that a woman is teaching a man.)

Joseph Webb's website is: www.bibleandmarriage.com

If you would like to discuss this further, I will make sure that my husband is at the computer with me to include his thoughts.
