Music

When you listen to music, whatever the style, what criteria do you use to determine whether it is enjoyable? What do you base your criteria on? Is it possible for a group to be to professional?

If you want me to be blatantly honest I'll have to say that my criteria is this: What I like, I call quality and what I do not like is rated inferior in my book.

Not very scientific and certainly not a very good way to do it. I think I want to learn how to like Christian music because of the way it worships not by the way it tickles my ears.

By the way, there are some people who would love to comment on your site if only you'd allow anonymous comments.

And just in the nick of time, because I am visiting for the first time. (I'm usually nicer then I am right now.....:) )

Darin, you must get off your high musical horse! You are the one that is missing out! The world of music has so much to offer, much more than what you are experiencing! I'm feeling sorry for you in your small box. (Peace!)

Mr. Zher, I think any individual who is serious about their music should continue to better themselves and keep striving for a higher level of perfection.

It's not a matter of being too professional. It is a matter of coming to the point where music is nothing but business to the artist where they lose the heart of it. But it doesn't need to be that way. And just because someone is striving to better themselves, does not put them in that category.

I appreciate that thought... I had not thought of it that way before. Thanks for stopping by.

Music/singing from the heart with EXPRESSION is what moves me. And I'm afraid that if something doesn't move me at all, I'm not favorably disposed to it.
