April Fools

I would love to hear the best April Fools trick you have ever heard. I have always wondered what the point of April Fools was or is? Is the goal to bring laughter to the world???

I don't know the origin of the day and the tradition. I just have painful memories of the April Fool's Day when I was in Grade five and we thought it would be a good April Fool's Day trick to tell the principal at our Christian Day School that his car had a flat tire. We heard a quite terrifying lecture regarding liars not entering the Kingdom of Heaven, etc., etc. before the pain was inflicted. I have kind of flinched on the thought of April Fool's Day tricks ever since. Fortunately, good judgment tends increase a lot between Grade five and age 55!

Yeah, I have never been overly fond of the day myself....

My youngest sister just pulled one on me yesterday. She announced on our family yahoo thing that she had been proposed to on Sunday, and after praying and thinking about it, accepted on Tuesday. She'd been to Europe last fall and said it was a fellow she'd met over there, etc, etc. Several of us fell for it! It was all an April fools joke! ~Edith

My nephew got me. He told me they brought my brother home from school with really high fever that day. He had been having some cold symptoms so naturally I was sure he was relapsing and was headed back to hospital or something... Those nephews can be real buggers sometimes....
