Circumcision (Part II)

While we were at the home school convention I was in a workshop entitled something like this. How Science Proves the Bible. In this workshop the speaker got to talking about circumcision. He wondered if anyone knew why God commanded circumcision to take place eight days after the child's birth. Here was his answer. When people are born they have no vitamin K in the body. At the baby's first breath it begins to make vitamin K. There is steady increase in the amount of vitamin K in the baby's body through day eight before it begins to decrease. The speaker informed us that on the eighth day of our lives we had the most vitamin K in our bodies that we will ever have in our lives. I found this very interesting. I have come to the conclusion that God isn't legalistic and has reasons for commanding his people to do things. God doesn't ask us to do things just to see if we will do them.

Recent science also proves that circumcision isn't necessary, that it has no value, just like the New Testament of the Bible tells us.

All the reported benefits are lower than the risks -an unfortunate newborn boy recently died in Canada because his circumcision got infected, and the diseases it prevents are all preventable and/or treatable with non-surgical means.
