Flase Accusations
Have you ever been falsely accused? If so, how did or do you react?

Well yes in fact we had some very hurtful accusations about 4 months ago. We had rented a house for just over a year when we found and purchased a place of our own. When we moved out of the rental, we had felt very good about the time there the "friends" we thought we made with our landlords adn the overall condition of the house and property. You can imaging our shock when we found out we were not recieving any of our security deposit back because we had "trashed" the place. After the initial shock of loosing the money it really hurt much worse to have people saying and believing bad things about us. The whole episode just turnded horrible with the last communication coming from our former landlords saying if we ever tried to call her or come on their property again she would call the police and if we had anything more to say to talk to her attorny. It was AWFUL!! And, it consumed both me and wife. I would say that we are past it now but don't know if we will ever forget it. IT HURTS! The biggest thing we did was pray over and over for God to take care of it and to get it out of our minds and thoughts so we could move on. That can only come from GOD. Satan wants us to keep thinking about and talking about spreading gossip about it and continue getting mad and hurt feelings over and over. We also had good advice from a friend that said Jesus didn't fight back with words when he was accused, the truth will speak for itself. That was when we decided to give up trying to defend ourselves, and let the TRUTH speak for us. In the end we got half our money back but still have no contact or relationship with a family we thought to be friends. The only answer I have was when we released it to God and let go of control, we felt better and were able to move on.
That is such an interesting story, since something similar happened to us also.
We rented for about 18 mo. bf we bought our home. When we moved out, we really wanted our security deposit money back (it was 1200) so we offered to do anything that might hinder our getting it back. The house was 1008 sf so our main idea was to give it a paint job, since it wouldn't take long at all. mind you, we had already cleaned up a large junk/debris pile in the back, tore down an old shed, fertilized the lawn consistantly, and installed professional beds in the front of the house, ran wiring in the basement, ect. Quite a few upgrades already, if you ask me. Some of this, (the landscaping) was verbally promised to be deducted off our rent, but never was. Guess what? When we moved, the owner acted all huffy that we were moving, walked through the entire house, making comments like, "where's your money hidden?" (which was very disheartening)and was upset because we replaced the toilet seat with a different style than had previously been on. We hadn't even charged him for things like that, which incidentally broke when we had company. Me, my 6 wk. old baby, my Dh and 1 employee spent an entire day going over the place with a fine tooth comb, putting down fresh mulch, ect. in an effort to get back our money. We were just blown away with the attitude, bc previous to this, we would have said we had a wonderful relationship with them.
And no, we didn't get reimbursed for our work either. They gave us about 1/4 of our security dep. back, but it was quite a let down. I think we were 'too goo' of renters.
