I am a singer who tends to hit random pitches. I Love my wife Rachel and my five children. Sierra (11), Aleya (8) Jayden (7) Jackson (7) Kaiden 3. Four of our five children are adopted so I am very interested in adoptions and the stories that go with them. I am a dairy farmer which I enjoy most of the time. Most importantly I love the Lord.

Biblical Names
What was Saul/Paul's last name? Why are last names never or rarely mentioned in the Bible? I can't think of one person who is known by his last name. Am I mistaken???
And of course, our own spiritual ancestor Anna Baptist. :)
Actually last names didn't come into common use until the common people were land owners. Before that there really wasn't much need to distinguish between the 10 Johns that lived in the same community. They were simply known as John the carpenter, or John the miller, or by their location as Jesus and Saul were known.
Many of these titles then became actual last names. Kauffmans were merchants, Burkholders held land on the mountain, Zimmermans were carpenters, but what were Zehrs? I have not idea.

His last name was Tarsus. He was Saul of Tarsus.
Then there was John the Baptist.
Don't forget Jesus of Nazareth.
And of course, our own spiritual ancestor Anna Baptist. :)
